Low Calorie Dieting

 Happy Monday everyone!
So, lately I've been on this health kick. I get a health kick every couple of months or so. I can't seem to stick to it though. I've been searching for techniques that will keep me on a health kick permanently. I've tried the military diet, keto diet, no carb diet, and a whole lot of others, but I just love food. I can't help it. I'm a Taurus ♉🤣
Now, I’m not on a weigh loss journey. I am on a HEALTH journey. Just opting for different health choices and seeing what’s right for me, and  something that I have been testing out and has been working for me recently has been a Low Calorie Diet. Here are the rules I've set for myself. I can eat anything I want as long as it is within my daily calorie intake goal. You may be thinking, well that's not really eating healthy. But it is. I've noticed that it has forced me to eat healthier options for a larger quantity of food. Foods that are not so healthy are usually high in calories, whereas foods that ARE healthy, are low.

Oscar Mayer Bacon (2 Slices):  80 Calories
Jennie-o Turkey Bacon (2 slices): 60 Calories

It's not much much of a difference but when you really think about it, it is. Why? Every calorie counts. Whatever calories you don't consume, you can consume in something else. So for 80 calories I can either eat just the 2 slices of the regular bacon, OR I can eat 2 slices of Turkey bacon AND use those 20 calories to eat something else, or I can actually SAVE those extra calories, and indulge in a little dessert later. You see where I'm going here? Healthier options and I get to eat more !

An app that has helped me GREATLY has been the MyFitnessPal App, and it's FREE. When you first download the app you're asked a couple of questions and based on your height, weight, and whether or not you want to lose, gain, or maintain your weight it determines how much calories you should be eating daily to achieve your fitness goals! You're able to add what foods you eat and it tells you how many calories those foods are. It has been a life saver for me!
