Potpourri Recipes For Every Season
As I was doing my usual Saturday morning cleaning, I was reminded of how when I was younger, and my mom and dad would wake my younger siblings and I with loud music. We knew it meant one thing. Saturday Cleaning. I remember how my mom didn't always use air fresheners to make the house smell good. I'd sometimes look at the stove and notice something simmering. "Why would she be cooking if she's cleaning?" I thought. I'd look in the pot and notice, cinnamon sticks, sliced apples, and oranges. It smelled amazing. Later in life I realized my mom used to do it as a way to make the house smell good, and now, years later, I do the same thing. I learned that this was called a "Potpourri" (So Fancy.😂) Not only do I use the ingredients my mother used to use, I also learned different recipes for different smells. This is a great way to save money, and an even greater way to make your house smell amazing! If you want to learn how to do a potpourri, and different recipes, I have everything you need. For any potpourri you'll need a pot, I usually use a small one, and fill it until it's 3/4 full. Now, the rest is up to you. you can get creative and add whatever your heart desires or you can use the following recipes below.
Let the pot come to a boil then simmer and enjoy the smell.
Keep in mind that as time passes the water will evaporate so add water as needed.
Here are my top favorite recipes for every season.
Give any of these a try! It's worth it, and feel free to let me know how it goes!
Enjoy your Monday ❤
